Tips for Frying with Oil: If oil spatters, cover immediately and reduce heat. When spattering stops, remove cover and return to cooking temperature. Be careful not to spatter or spill oil onto hot burner of range. Pan Fry: 1. Pour cooking oil into unheated skillet. Do not preheat oil. Add frozen hash browns. 2. Heat over Medium heat or in electric frypan at 350 degrees. After oil begins to bubble around edges of potatoes, fry according to chart. Cook to a light golden color. Tip: Use one tablespoon of oil for each patty cooked. 1-2 Patties Hash Browns: 1-2 tbsp oil; Fry undisturbed 6-7 min., turn, 4-5 min. 3-4 Patties Hash Browns: 3-4 tbsp oil; Fry undisturbed 7-9 min., turn, 4-5 min.
