Cooks in 5 minutes. Microwave: 1 Serving: 3/4 cup water, 1/4 cup grits, dash salt (optional). 1. For 1 serving, combine water, grits and salt in 2 cup microwaveable bowl; stir. 2. Microwave at High 3 to 4 minutes or until thickened when stirred. Stove Top: 1 Serving: 1 cup water, 1/4 cup grits, dash of salt (optional); 4 Servings: 3 cups water, 3/4 cup grits, 1/4 tsp of salt (optional); 6 Servings: 4 cups water, 1 cup grits, 1/2 tsp of salt (optional). 1. Slowly stir grits and salt into briskly boiling water. 2. Reduce heat to medium-low; cover. Cook 5 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Tip: for thicker grits decrease water; for thinner grits increase water.
