One Step Preparation (Keep frozen until use): To Heat & Serve: Boil 2 quarts of water. Add frozen pierogies and heat for 5-7 minutes (until they float); drain. Or in a microwave safe bowl, cover pierogies completely with water and loosely cover bowl with plastic wrap. Microwave on High approximately 5 minutes; drain. Saute frozen pierogies in skillet with butter or oil. Turn occasionally until golden brown on both sides, approximately 8 minutes. Bake frozen pierogies in a preheated 400 degrees F oven on a rimmed baking sheet coated with nonstick spray. Spray both sides of the pierogies. Bake 18-20 minutes until pierogies are puffed and nicely browned. For best results, turn pierogies over halfway through bake time. Deep fry frozen pierogies in 350 degrees F oil for 4 minutes until pierogies float and are crisp. Grill (countertop grilling machine) frozen pierogies 5 minutes in a preheated grill. For best results, spray both sides of pierogies with nonstick spray before grilling. Keep frozen. How easy is this? Serving Suggestions: Quick & Easy Meal: Boil pierogies according to package instructions. Meanwhile, lightly saute peeled and cooked shrimp with diced tomatoes. Add garlic to taste. Serve over boiled pierogies. Top with toasted pine nuts if desired. Simple Saute: Saute pierogies with onions. For more color, add red and green pepper strips. To make a more complete skillet meal, add cooked chicken and toss with sweet and sour or honey dijon sauce. Family Favorites: Combine boiled pierogies with spaghetti sauce, marinara, or pesto and sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Add deli meatballs, if desired. Try something different: Boil pierogies according to package instructions. Meanwhile, in a large skillet over medium-high heat, saute onions, carrots, asparagus and squash until vegetables begin to brown, about 5 minutes. Add garlic, salt and pepper to taste. Serve over boiled pierogies. Sprinkle parmesan cheese on top if desired.
