  1. Q. How do I buy a phone?
    A.

    1. Purchase the no-contract phone of your choice at the Giant Eagle Wireless Center. The activation instructions are included in the packaging of your new phone. Choose a new number or keep your old number at activation.
    2. Purchase a prepaid wireless card from the same carrier as your no-contract phone. Depending on your usage, you can select either pay-as-you-go or an unlimited plan.
    3. Load the prepaid wireless card to your new phone using the instructions on the back of the card.

  2. Q. Do my phone and plan carriers have to match?
    A.

    Yes. For example, if you have a NET10 phone, then you will need to purchase a NET10 prepaid wireless card to use with your phone.

  3. Q. Will a prepaid card work on any phone?
    A.

    Yes. As long as the phone you purchased elsewhere is a no-contract, prepaid phone. Remember to purchase prepaid wireless cards that are from the same carrier as your phone.

  4. Q. Will prepaid cards load to a postpaid phone?

    No. The prepaid wireless cards can only be used with no-contract prepaid phones. If you are
    switching from postpaid to prepaid, then you will need to purchase a no-contract prepaid phone.

    A.

    Yes, as long as your no-contract prepaid phone does not have any restrictions. You will lose any remaining service days on your pay-as-you-go plan once you switch to unlimited. It is also important to remember to refill every month on an unlimited plan or you risk losing your phone number.

    Plans vary by carrier. You may choose any plan for any prepaid handset supplied by that carrier. Exceptions include: Android, whose handsets require an unlimited plan and NET10, who has specific monthly cards. You choose your plan as you activate your phone.

    All of the prepaid carriers have national coverage:

    • TracFone & NET10 get coverage on AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon Networks.
    • Boost Mobile & Virgin Mobile use the Sprint Network.
    • Verizon uses the Verizon Network.
    • AT&T Go Phone uses the AT&T Network.
    • T-Mobile Prepaid uses the T-Mobile Network.
