5 Pepper Turkey Chili

  1. 2 lb. ground turkey

  2. 1 Tbsp. garlic, chopped

  3. 1/2 medium onion, diced

  4. 1 green pepper, diced

  5. 1 red pepper, diced

  6. 1 yellow pepper, diced

  7. 1 orange pepper, diced

  8. 1 poblano pepper, diced

  9. 28 oz. can diced tomatoes

  10. 8 oz. can tomato sauce

  11. 1 can great northern beans

  12. 1 package Carroll Shelby's Chili Mix

  13. 2 cup water

  14. salt and cayenne pepper to taste

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground turkey
  • 1 Tbsp. garlic, chopped
  • 1/2 medium onion, diced
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 1 red pepper, diced
  • 1 yellow pepper, diced
  • 1 orange pepper, diced
  • 1 poblano pepper, diced
  • 28 oz. can diced tomatoes
  • 8 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1 can great northern beans
  • 1 package Carroll Shelby's Chili Mix
  • 2 cup water
  • salt and cayenne pepper to taste

Recipe Directions:

Brown ground turkey in a large sauce pot. Drain grease as needed. Add diced onions, garlic, and half of diced peppers to ground turkey. Sauté until peppers are soft, about 7 minutes. Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, northern beans, and 2 c of water. Add the package of chili mix and simmer for 20 minutes stirring occasionally. Season the chili to taste with salt and cayenne pepper. If the chili is not thick enough the flour packet from the chili mix can be mixed with ¼ cup of water and stirred into simmering chili. The chili must simmer for 10 minutes to cook out the flour taste. Add the remaining peppers and simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
