Beer and cheese party tips

  • Keep planning simple with make-it-yourself online invitations. Simply select your favorite design, fill in the party information and add guests. You can manage every detail with the click of a mouse.
  • Plan ahead for guests to get maximum enjoyment. Purchase enough cheese to serve three to four ounces of cheese per guest. You may want to serve less if you're offering main courses after your beer and cheese assortment.
  • Create beer and cheese stations — one for each flavor grouping — so guests can work their way around the table. To help guests learn more about the selections, write the name of each beer and each cheese on index cards so guests will know what they're tasting.
  • Get creative with accompaniments. Serve your beer and cheese pairings with other delightful refreshments like vegetables and dip, assorted crackers, ham or prosciutto, tortilla chips, and thick, hearty bread. If you crave something sweeter, gourmet chocolates, grapes, apple slices, and sour cherries complement any cheese selection wonderfully.
  • Some guests will enjoy dipping cheese selections in tasty sauces. Try spiced Dijon or honey mustard, quince jam, salsa, horseradish, and chutney to please a variety of appetites.
  • Serve plenty of seltzer or ice water to guests to keep them refreshed between tastings.
  • Stock up on disposable cups, plates and utensils to make clean-up easy. Don't forget to pick up several pretty serving platters for your cheese selections.
