Mother's Day is a special holiday to celebrate the appreciation of women who have played a key role in your life. For one day, you should show how grateful you are for all the hard work that mothers do all year round. Here are some ideas for making this day a special one for the mom in your life!
- Check out the gift baskets at Giant Eagle®. We have created special assortments for mom. Some baskets have a focus on health and beauty and others feature foods especially selected for mom.
- Select your own assortment for a basket or gift bag. A Giant Eagle® reusable bag makes a useful wrapping tool!
- Relax — Bath and beauty items, some soothing tea and a candle packaged with a new book or favorite magazine.
- Enjoy — Favorite chocolates, coffee, tea or another favorite beverage combined with a specialty cookie or tea biscuit.
- Great looks — Perfume, favorite beauty items, an assortment of hair clips or ties, combined with some fresh flowers.
- Cooking in style — A new cookbook, new spices and herbs, famous chef ready—to—use sauces and condiments.
- Going green — Mom may appreciate some earth-friendly health and beauty items along with a reusable shopping bag.
- Plan and prepare a meal for mom.
- Easy way — Check out the prepared foods at Giant Eagle® starting with our great rotisserie chicken and branching out to a variety of sides and main dishes ready to take home and serve.
- Kids make breakfast — An easy meal for children to prepare (with the help of an adult purchasing the food and handling the cutting and heat). For starters, fruit cup with scrambled eggs and whole grain muffins.
- Dinner on the grill — It can be steaks or burgers but add some vegetables like portabella mushrooms, asparagus, Vidalia onion slices, green and red peppers and of course a salad with spring greens with some sliced fresh strawberries.
- Want to go beyond Mother's Day? — Present mom with an assortment for future help with some I.O.U.'s from each family member. Need some ideas? Promise to help with (or make) dinner, do the dishes, handle the laundry, dust and vacuum — you get the point! Add some small items to a gift bag with the I. O. U.'s like a new dust cloth, dish towels and laundry bag!
Be sure to get the extras; flowers for the table, some coordinated napkins and of course, a card!
Make Mother's Day extra-special with a delicious Mother's Day Brunch.
