Delicious Bowls for Soups and Dips

Freshly baked Italian or sourdough bread bowls are perfect for serving your favorite piping hot soups, chilis, stews or creamy dips.

How to make your bread bowl

1. Slice the top of a round loaf of bread using a serrated bread knife. How much you remove depends on the size of the loaf

2. Use a paring knife to cut bread around the inside of the bowl—be careful not to cut through the bottom. Walls should be about 1" thick.
3. Hollow out your bread bowl.
4. Fill your bowl with your favorite dip, chili or soup. Use a thicker soup, as thinner broths will cause the bread to get too soggy and fall apart.

Tip: Use the inside of the bread loaf for dipping, homemade croutons or bread crumbs. To make croutons, cut the extra bread into squares, toss with olive oil, salt and pepper and toast in a preheated 375°F oven for 5-7 minutes.
