New Giant Eagle Salsa, bursting with flavor but light on sodium

Our two new salsas are just what you need to spice it up in the kitchen, from snack time to suppertime — and at tailgate parties, too! They’re low in sodium and calories, but packed with tons of signature flavor. We’ve whipped up some tasty and simple serving suggestions, ideal for adding variety to any meal!


Giant Eagle Sweet & Spicy Corn Salsa

A medium-heat mix of corn, onion, cucumber, bell peppers, jalapeño peppers and sweet spices.

Serving Suggestions:

  • Pour it into a pot of chili to amp up the texture and flavor.
  • Mix it with chopped avocado, shredded cheddar cheese and crispy, crumbled bacon for a dip-able side dish. 
  • Serve it as a signature topping with chicken, beef, shrimp or fish tacos.
  • Use it in place of dressing in a Mexican-style salad, tossed with lettuce, tomatoes, crumbled tortilla chips and shredded cheese.
  • Skip the ketchup! Serve this salsa on a hot dog.
  • Add some pizzazz to scrambled eggs. Mix in the salsa before cooking, or finish the dish with a spoonful on top. Tip: Serve this breakfast with chorizo sausage!
  • For a healthy appetizer, hollow out a tomato or a small red pepperazzi pepper and fill it with salsa.

Giant Eagle Cowboy Caviar

A little bit wild! This hot, chunky salsa is loaded with sweet corn and black beans, kicked up with jalapeño peppers, lime juice and chipotle peppers in adobo sauce.

Serving Suggestions:

  • For a healthy appetizer, hollow out a small orange pepperazzi and fill it with Cowboy Caviar.
  • Spoon over boneless chicken breasts and bake until cooked through. Right before serving, add a layer of shredded cheddar cheese, and bake until melted and golden brown on top.
  • Serve it over a baked potato! Add a dollop of sour cream and a sprinkle of chopped cilantro for a cooling effect.
  • Make a Mexican-style pizza. Top a prepared pizza shell with Cowboy Caviar and shredded cheese. Bake until melted, and add shredded lettuce for some crunch before serving!
  • For an easy lunch, mix it with chopped avocado and shredded cheese, and stuff the combination into toasted pita bread.
  • Serve it over warm cornbread and top with sour cream.
  • Mix it with brown rice for a delicious, healthy side dish.
