Ingredients

  • 1 cup lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 4 Granny Smith apples, peeled and halved
  • 1 gallon Farmer’s Market Apple Cider
  • 16 whole cloves

Recipe Directions:

Preheat oven to 250°F. In a medium bowl, combine lemon juice and salt. Soak apple halves in lemon juice mixture for about 1 minute; transfer to a paper towel.

Using a sharp paring knife, carefully carve faces into the rounded side of each apple half.

Arrange "heads" on a baking sheet lined with foil and bake for about an hour and a half, until they appear dry with brown edges. Insert cloves into eye sockets and float them in a black pot or punch bowl with apple cider.
