Food insecurity is the condition of not having access to sufficient food, or food of adequate quality, to meet one's basic needs. According to Feeding America, 34 million people—including 9 million children—in the US are food insecure.

We’re committed to fighting food insecurity and providing food security solutions for our neighbors. We work hard to provide access to safe, nutritious food and medicine to those in need. We know we’re accountable to address systemic inequities in food distribution and are responsible to leverage our resources and experiences to identify and implement sustainable solutions for communities facing food access challenges.

Giant Eagle is fortunate to work with several partners whose dedication and expertise are unmatched. There is no one solution that will wholly solve the complex issue of food insecurity, nor is there one organization that can take on this challenge.
