A Message from our President and CEO

I am proud to announce that we have hit a huge milestone in the fight against COVID-19. As of April 26th, Giant Eagle administered it’s 500,000th dose of the vaccine.

A journey that began with supporting long-term care facility vaccination efforts in December has grown into a multi-faceted initiative spanning our in-store pharmacies and numerous community sites ranging from sporting venues to classrooms. While we know we have much more work to do, I want to recognize both our Team Members who have made this possible and our Guests who put their trust in Giant Eagle to protect them and those they love.

To our Team Members, THANK YOU! Over the past year, you have worked tirelessly to serve our Guests who have relied on us to help them feed and care for their families during the pandemic. Without YOUR DEDICATION, we wouldn’t have been able to meet the critical needs of our communities during these trying times. As always, your health and safety are our top priority and we will continue to do our very best to ensure you have the resources needed to serve our Guests and each other.

To our Guests, thank you for allowing Giant Eagle to play a part in YOUR personal journey to help move into a post-COVID world. For those who have already received the vaccine, thank you. For those who are considering it, we understand that the decision to receive the vaccine may be difficult and scary. Giant Eagle will continue to be a resource for vaccine education and the larger community benefits that are possible when more individuals decide to get vaccinated. We are so close to a return to normal. Let’s keep going!

In the coming months, Giant Eagle will continue to implement safety measures to keep our Team Members and Guests safe, to provide vaccines, and to help our Team Members to continue to come together as one.

This includes:

  • Our mass vaccination clinics at Heinz Field, our Corporate Offices, school systems, and more will continue as long as they are needed.
  • Giant Eagle remains diligent with sanitization protocols. Checkout lanes, payment touchpads, restrooms, cooler handles, and more continue to be sanitized frequently. Team Members and Guests must wear face coverings and are asked to practice social distancing in all of our retail locations, Corporate buildings, and Retail Support Centers.
  • Giant Eagle will continue to follow all state, local and CDC guidelines in order to keep our Team Members and Guests safe and healthy.

Thank you for your continued trust and loyalty during the pandemic. Giant Eagle is fully committed to keeping our Team Members and Guests safe. Together, let’s continue to support each other so that no one walks this journey alone.
