Need a sweet treat with a little magic and a lot of color? This recipe for “Unicorn Pie” takes marshmallows, fruit hoops, cheesecake and sprinkles to create a whimsical, kid-friendly dish straight out of a fairy tale.


  • ½ stick Giant Eagle butter
  • 3 cups Giant Eagle marshmallows
  • 4 cups Giant Eagle Fruity Hoops cereal
  • Giant Eagle cooking spray
  • 2 cups Land O’Lakes® heavy cream
  • ½ cup Giant Eagle powdered sugar
  • ½ cup Giant Eagle sour cream
  • 1 jar (12 oz.) Smucker’s® strawberry jam
  • 1 pkg. ( 8 oz.) Giant Eagle cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup Cake Mate® rainbow sprinkles


  Prep Time: 30 min. • Cook Time: 5 min.

Melt the butter in a pot on low heat and stir in marshmallows. Once melted, stir in fruity hoops. Spray a pie tin with cooking spray. Add marshmallow mixture into the pie tin and press into the pan creating a crust.

Using a hand mixer or a stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, whip the cold heavy cream into stiff peaks on medium-high speed, about 4-5 minutes. Set aside. In another bowl, use the mixer to beat the powdered sugar, sour cream, strawberry jam, and cream cheese until well combined. Fold in whipped cream and sprinkles.

Spoon the mixture into the pie crust. Place in fridge for one hour before slicing. Top with extra fruity hoops for garnish.
