Slow-Cooker 5-Ingredient Chili

  • 1¾ lbs. ground beef
  • 2 cans (15-16 oz.) chili beans, undrained
  • 2 jars (16 oz.) tomato salsa or salsa verde
  • 1 bottle (12 oz.) Mexican-style beer (such as Corona® Extra)
  • 2 medium jalapeño peppers, sliced
  • Optional garnishes: oyster crackers, sour cream, shredded Cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes, thinly sliced radishes, chopped red or green onions, or chopped cilantro


  Prep Time: 10 min. • Cook Time: 4-8 hrs.

In a large skillet, cook beef over medium-high heat 5 minutes or until browned*, breaking up beef with side of spoon; drain drippings. Transfer meat to 4 to 5-quart slow cooker; stir in remaining ingredients.

Slow cook on high 4-5 hours (or low 7-8 hours). Serve topped with optional garnishes.

*For food safety, cook ground beef to an internal temperature of 160°F.

Chef Tip: Double the recipe for a larger batch of chili.
