Brie and Apple Grilled Cheese

There are hundreds—maybe even thousands—of ways to enjoy a grilled cheese. Check out just one with this recipe for a brie and apple sandwich where the rich meltiness of the cheese and the sweet crunch of the apple go together for a perfect bite every time.


  • 16 oz. Market District soft ripened Brie
  • 2 Kiku apples
  • 16-20 Nature’s Basket sage leaves
  • 8 slices Pepperidge Farm® sourdough bread
  • ½ stick Giant Eagle unsalted butter


  Prep Time: 10 min. • Cook Time: 10 min.

Thinly slice the Brie. Core apples and cut into ½-inch slices. Pick sage leaves from stem. Arrange 4-5 slices of brie on one slice of bread. Arrange 4-5 slices of apples on top and top with bread.

Melt half of the butter in a frying pan on medium heat. Once melted add two of the sandwiches to the pan. Cook for 4 minutes then place sage leaves on top of uncooked half of sandwich and flip. Cook for another 4 minutes and remove from pan. Melt remaining butter and repeat with other two sandwiches.

Slice in half and enjoy.
