This recipe for Cincinnati chili mac is the perfect mix of pasta, mac and cheese, and chilli. All you need is one large frying pan and a pot to cook the spaghetti and you’ll be enjoying this cravable, easy-to-make dish is less than one hour.


  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 2 yellow onions, divided
  • 2 Tbsp. Market District extra virgin olive oil
  • 1½ lbs. Nature’s Basket 90% lean ground beef
  • 2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1½ tsp. ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp. ground allspice
  • ½ tsp. cayenne
  • 2 tsp. ground cumin
  • 2 tsp. kosher salt, divided
  • ½ tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1 (15 oz.) can Giant Eagle tomato sauce
  • ¼ cup Lea & Perrins Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 lb. box Giant Eagle spaghetti
  • 4 cups Giant Eagle fancy shredded sharp Cheddar cheese


  Prep Time: 5 min. • Cook Time: 35 min.

Peel and chop the garlic. Peel and finely dice the onions; set aside half for garnish.

Heat olive oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add beef and half of the onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned, 3-5 minutes*. Add garlic, chili powder, cinnamon, allspice, cayenne, cumin, 1 teaspoon salt, and pepper and cook, stirring occasionally, until well browned, 3-5 minutes. Add tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, cocoa powder, and 1 cup water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook, stirring occasionally, until somewhat thick, about 25 minutes.

Meanwhile, bring a large pot of water and 1 teaspoon of salt to a boil over medium-high heat. Add spaghetti and cook, stirring occasionally, until tender, 8–10 minutes; drain. Divide spaghetti between four large bowls. Top with chili, cheese, and remaining diced onions.

*For food safety, cook ground beef to an internal temperature of 160°F.
