Preheat the grill to medium-high. Toss the asparagus in 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil and 1 teaspoon of salt. Thinly slice the green onions. Peel and finely grate the ginger.
Whisk together the soy sauce, sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, sesame seeds, green onion and ginger until combined.
Place asparagus on preheated grill. Roll around and cook until asparagus is nicely charred; this should take about 10 minutes depending on the thickness of the asparagus. Toss the grilled asparagus in the dressing and arrange on a platter. Enjoy!
