Grilled Asparagus with Ginger Soy Sesame Dressing

Grilled asparagus might just be the perfect side dish. It pairs perfectly with meat, seafood or you can enjoy it on its own with this recipe for grilled asparagus salad with ginger soy sesame dressing.


  • 2 bunch asparagus
  • 2 tsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp. kosher salt
  • ½ bunch green onions
  • 2 oz. ginger root
  • 3 Tbsp. Kikkoman® low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. Giant Eagle granulated sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. Marukan® unseasoned rice vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp Dynasty® sesame oil
  • 2 Tbsp. McCormick® toasted sesame seeds

Preheat the grill to medium-high. Toss the asparagus in 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil and 1 teaspoon of salt. Thinly slice the green onions. Peel and finely grate the ginger.

Whisk together the soy sauce, sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, sesame seeds, green onion and ginger until combined.

Place asparagus on preheated grill. Roll around and cook until asparagus is nicely charred; this should take about 10 minutes depending on the thickness of the asparagus. Toss the grilled asparagus in the dressing and arrange on a platter. Enjoy!
