We’ve installed plexiglass dividers at checkout, Pharmacy, and Customer Service counters.

We’ve enlisted Team Members whose sole job is to sanitize surfaces, door handles, payment touch pads, and other high-touch areas.


Re-usable Bag Reduction

We’ve asked guests to please refrain from bringing reusable bags into stores. Purchases will be bagged in either single-use plastic or paper bags at no charge.

As Communities and Businesses Reopen

Giant Eagle’s top priority is the health, safety and well-being of our Team Members, guests and neighbors. We will continue our numerous store cleaning and sanitization efforts to provide the best in-store experience for all those working and shopping with us.

We also remain committed to supporting any Team Member or vendor partner who tests positive for COVID-19. In these instances, our priorities will be to ensure that those who test positive are cared for, that others who may have come into close contact with the individual are appropriately informed, that the company exceeds industry requirements in its efforts to thoroughly sanitize all potentially affected work areas, and that all activities are done in accordance with guidance from relevant authorities including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and County Health Departments.

As our communities take steps to reopen, we all must remain vigilant in protecting ourselves and those around us, everywhere we go. We must rely on our local health departments for guidance, as they continue to be the lead agencies during the COVID-19 pandemic. In support of this approach, Giant Eagle is no longer listing stores where a Team Member who tests positive for COVID-19 is employed.
